The former Metropolitan University building in Whitechapel, which had stood unoccupied for several years, has been transformed into a state-of-the-art education facility and workspace campus. Situated within London’s strategically important “Tech Belt,” the site is surrounded by a thriving cluster of student accommodation, as well as biomedical and life sciences buildings. The seven-storey concrete building faced challenges such as limited site access and time constraints. Despite these challenges, the project was successfully completed on time with 95% of the space let. The final account was quickly settled after completion, highlighting the efficiency and teamwork behind this successful project.
